Sweet Dreams

Imagine sleeping on a mattress and box spring set that is two decades old. Now imagine doing that after having 11 surgeries. And then finally saving up enough money to purchase a new bed and you receive the news that you need an organ transplant and all your bed savings is immediately reallocated. That was Nicole Finocchiaro's story. But The Granted Wish Foundation was able to step in and make a difference.

Dear The Granted Wish Foundation,

"I first want to take the time to thank you for granting my wish. It takes very special people to do what you have done for me. I have a few debilitating diseases that cause me to spend at least a week in the hospital every month. I recently found out that I have to have a second transplant; finding this out has devastated me in many ways.

I was recently trying to save up money for a new bed that could physically help me feel better after my surgery, but when I got the news of my potential 12th surgery I knew it wouldn't be possible to save any longer. With all of the medical bills and transportation, I now needed to focus on how to afford the transplant. When I received a call from the gentlemen at Doughty's Furniture I couldn't have been more relieved. I think I only heard three of his sentences before my eyes started to tear up. I knew with the help of your foundation, God, and Doughty's Furniture, that my wish would come true. You will never know how deeply grateful I am for what your foundation supports. It was so nice for once to have great news rather than bad news. I want you to know your big act of kindness will never go unappreciated and you will always be dear to my heart. I want you tell you that one day when I am better I will be sure to help someone else in need just as you have done for me."

God Bless,

Nicole Finocchiaro
