Wishes In The Sky

The Granted Wish Foundation helped bring a sick one-year-old Seattle boy home after an extended stay at The Cleveland Clinic. The foundation donated the use of a private jet through Arthur Middleton Capital Holdings Inc. to assist Cody, the son of Carie Mitchell and Loren Hagen, who is recovering from a life-changing open-heart operation.

Cody was diagnosed with Williams syndrome, a genetic disorder causing heart and vessel problems, when he was six months old. After Seattle doctors said they did all they could, Cody's parents were able to find a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic who thought he could help. Cody's parents brought him across the country and Cody had his surgery in late April and spent two months in the hospital before returning home.

"He can be a baby now," Mitchell told a Seattle reporter. "We were so grateful to help this wonderful family," Granted Wish Foundation Executive Director Stefanie Coletti said. "When I met Cody, his mother and grandmother for the first time, the first thing they did was hug me for five minutes and thank me. Seeing the baby smile and the tears of joy from his mother and grandmother is truly what makes what we do at the foundation so very rewarding."

Granted Wish was featured on Fox 8 News in Cleveland and the Repository did an interview which will be published sometime in July.
