Frequently Asked Questions
QUESTION: Who can apply for a Granted Wish?
ANSWER: The Granted Wish Foundation grants wishes to individuals of all ages. It's not just for the young, disabled or dying. It’s for anybody who deserves a wish. Individuals can nominate themselves or anyone they feel is deserving of a wish.
QUESTION: How do you decide whose wishes are granted?
ANSWER: Our Board of Governors review each and every nomination and after careful consideration, make a determination on which wish or wishes will be granted.
QUESTION: How long can I expect to wait before knowing if my nomination has been selected?
ANSWER: The trustees of the Foundation meet every thirty days. If you have submitted your application through the website, you will receive a notice letting you know it has been received. If your nomination is selected, we will notify you.
QUESTION: Is there another way to submit my application for a Granted Wish other than the Website?
ANSWER: Yes. You may call the Granted Wish Hotline at 1-866-520-WISH and speak to a representative who will obtain all the necessary information. You may also download a form on the website and mail it to the address provided on the application.
QUESTION: Will my Granted Wish request get processed faster if I call the Granted Wish Hotline or mail it in?
ANSWER: No. All wishes, no matter how they are submitted, will be handled in the same manner.
QUESTION: What kind of wishes are granted?
ANSWER: We will consider all wishes. It can be any wish at all. To have a celebrity touch someone’s life, the chance to travel to a faraway place, to provide a merciful medical procedure to make someone’s life happier, remodeling a room or a shopping spree, you name it and your wish will be considered.
QUESTION: I notice you ask for donations. Do I have to donate in order to request a Granted Wish?
ANSWER: No. Whether you make a donation or not does not effect your granted wish request.
QUESTION: Is my donation tax deductible?
ANSWER: Yes. We are a non-profit organization registered with the State of Ohio. The Granted Wish Foundation has been granted IRC 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by the IRS.
QUESTION: How do you cover overhead cost?
ANSWER: All of our overhead costs are endowed by a major national corporation, Arthur Middleton Capital Holdings.
